Dinner at Ichabod's

Warning: this is not a food / restaurant review so my apologies for not having photos of food and drinks in this post...my best friend and I were too busy devouring what was in front of us because it was that damn good. I dare to visit this restaurant and try the Duck Rillettes, Prime Steak Frites and Seared Striped Bass, with glasses of red wine and that delicious Spring Bramble cocktail. I dare you! ;) The only lonely photo I manage to take though was the restaurant's sign. You just have to take my word for it and try this wonderful, laid-back restaurant for yourself. It's located at 15 Irving Place, NYC.

Last night I had the lovely dinner with one of my best friends at Ichabod's which is next door to Irving Plaza. Neither of us has been at the restaurant before but I thought of my friend who is a fan of the Sleepy Hollow story and thought the restaurant was worth a try. And it sure was as I already teased you about the food we ate!

What I want to share in this post is not only the vibe from Ichabod's, which was very open, very welcoming; I want to share the joy of having great friends just wanting to stay in touch and catch up despite having busy lives.  It always amazes me to hear my friends' life experiences, seeing them progressing higher into their life goals. It keeps me grounded and encouraged to go higher for myself. And having a supportive group of friends, nurturing each other and ourselves is beautiful to witness and acknowledge.

These conversations I have with my friends I cherish no matter where we are. I'll tell you what else I cherish: the good old 1980s. :) Honestly, what is it about the 80s, with the fashion (shoulder pads, leg warmers, stirrup pants and stone washed jeans) and the music? I can't lie though, the music was magical. Miami Vice theme song, anyone?

xx
